Allergen Friendly Gingerbread House

I've been missing in action here on Food Allergy Buzz for a while. If you planned on doing a gingerbread house kit with your food allergic little ones, hope you've already placed your orders with A & J Bakery in Rhode Island. Today was the last day delivery by Christmas was guaranteed. (According to A & J's website, "On December 21, 2010 we will stop taking house orders in order to process your order correctly. Any orders ordered on this date or after, A&J Bakery cannot guarantee that they will arrive by Christmas Eve.") If you order tomorrow, you probably won't receive it by Christmas, but...you'll have yourself a fun project to keep them busy!

We've finished assembling and decorating our gingerbread house. It is an "Allergen Friendly House Kit: It is peanut, tree nut, wheat, gluten, soy, egg, dairy, and sesame free...made in a dedicated nut and gluten free facility." We loved the kit the very first year it was available but Joe and Amy--A & J's owners--have really outdone themselves this year. The kit has a nice variety of allergy friendly candies and decorations, and comes in an attractive package with easy to follow directions. It's awesome! My two boys had a great time decorating the house. In fact, the older they get, the more they seem to enjoy it. And we're not the only ones--A & J receives orders from all over the world, literally enjoying an international reputation! Happy Holidays!

I just posted about A&J's gingerbread house kit on my Nut Free Life blog, as well, because it's the only peanut and tree nut free kit I've seen! I haven't ever bought one, so I'm glad to hear that your children enjoyed it. I'm ordering one next year for sure. Thanks!
